Monday Fun - My new Cupcake Pins...

Hi Everyone...

Just had to post about the fun project I worked on today....I always wanted to start making some fun stuff using polymer clay...and today was the day.....I took out my clay and ended up making one of my favorite things....cupcakes...

I made some black forest cupcakes, some strawberry cupcakes and some pink butter cream cupcakes with bead sprinkles....

I baked them and then sealed them and added a pin on the backs...I felt like a kid again ...remember the days when we used to use play doh...what fun ..I love the adult clay that bakes and is a permanent sweet treat....I just added these to my Etsy Shop....

I do have some more artwork...but you will have to pop by tomorrow for that....

I also received an e-mail from Fannie this morning with all kinds of great cupcake links....

my favorite is this link to a special 2500.00 dollar cupcake purse....

you have to pop by her wonderful blog and check out her amazing artwork....

Cheers,
Diana

Fun Weekend Post....Blog Friends and Easter Fun from last week...

Hi Everyone...

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend....I just received this wonderful package in the mail from Danette....We met on-line through blogging....she has a wonderful blog where she features books and author interviews...click on her name or the photo to head over an check out her blog....
She had a give away and this is what I received...it was like Christmas in March...

She sent me some wonderful books to read...and a special children's book based in Hawaii...oh by the way Danette lives in Hawaii...(she is so lucky)...she also sent me some wonderful postcards, bookmarks and a photo she took...the photo was amazing...and there is a hidden sign in it for me ....Most recently I have been contacted to work on a book that will be based on a sea turtle...I was thrilled when I looked at the photo Danette sent me....like a sign ...these animals are such wonders......I read the children's book"Mongoose, Mongoose, Stop! don't run" and absolutely love it and the colourful illustrations in that book...nice touch with the Hawaiian glossary at the end...It has a lovely rhyme to it...

Thanks for the great package Danette...

and I am a bit behind with these but wanted to share a few shots of our Easter eggs from last week....

the egg on the bottom center is the one Cole painted!!! my little artist...

Have a wonderful weekend....

This is very Addictive....

Hi Everyone....

I have moved to doing ink work on rough surface heavyweight watercolour paper...I just love the way it feels and the way the ink looks on the textured paper....I am also getting addicted to this paper because I can have three times the fun with each piece I am working on...

I create my black and white ink sketch...fun!
I create a digital piece with it....fun!
and I paint with watercolour ...triple the fun!

I have a series of 4 of these "Sweet Ladies" so far...the first one today is titled...." Cupcake Princess" crazy as it is to include cupcakes in my sketches I just let it all happen naturally...no pencil..just ink and no escapes...what I draw is what it is....I love her... she even has cute jewelry...

She will be joining my prints in my Etsy shop on my next shop update....

Have a great day and pop by tomorrow for the next one in the series....

Cheers,
Diana

This is the Digital one....
she is very crisp and fun

Some fun finds for Easter...and some stuff I made years ago...

Hi Everyone...

I am getting all of my Easter stuff all ready and my vignette is all set on our table...The Easter eggs to the left are ones I created our first year Married...years ago...I blew out the eggs, washed them and then used acrylics to paint them...the carrot treat holders are new...I bought 4 of them for a dollar...and thought they would be nice at each place setting....the rock rabbit is an Easter gift I made Brad in 1997...he is out all year long...but has a special place for Easter....and the egg holders are from last year and the cute bunny bowl is a cute find this year....

These bags are for Cole's friends that pop by....so sweet I could hardly wait to fill them and put them in a big basket....cuteeeeeee

and this is my table vignette...my blooming orchid sits on a wrought iron bird bath.....it makes me long for Spring even more....today I saw the Robin ...and when the Robin is back....I know warmer weather will be here shortly....
now I head to our formal Dining Room to make it more Spring like....oh how fun it is to Spring Clean and decorate...
Cheers,
Diana
